What is Nutritional Therapy?

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."
This old adage, attributed to Hippocrates, is the essence of Nutritional Therapy. It hints at the importance and impact of food on our health: the right diet can keep us healthy and even heal.

As a certified Nutritional Therapy practitioner, I am trained to evaluate a person's nutritional imbalances and deficiencies, and accordingly make individually tailored recommendations on diet and lifestyle. Through effective short-term actions, we will rebalance the body, with optimal health being the long-term objective.

Nutritional Therapy is also:

  • Recognising bio-individuality. There is no single diet that is right for everybody. We are all unique individuals and what works for one person, may harm the next.

  • Viewing the body as a whole where all parts are connected, reinforcing the need to build strong foundations of health.

  • Getting to the root cause of the problem, as opposed to a quick fix to relieve symptoms.

  • A holistic practise i.e. understanding that optimising lifestyle habits (stress, sleep & movement) is as important as diet.
